Hello Everyone!
Another week in Elk Grove for the books! Sister Bingham and I are doing great here in the Waterman ward. It is super pretty here in Elk Grove. It kind of reminds me of Idaho... which is funny because my last area reminded me of Utah (except 50 bazillion times more diverse). Also, it is starting to get cold here so we pulled out the sweaters from the bottom of our suitcases. Good times!
Highlights!
- We had an AWESOME lesson with our friends Kay and Mike. Turns out, they both have been reading the Book of Mormon! Yayayay!!! They had a lot of questions and Mike actually admitted that he has been looking for a change in his life! We have invited them to really pray about what they have read! We have a lesson with them tomorrow which we are super pumped for!
- We met with our friend David too this past week! He had some concerns he wanted to talk about and so we went over the Restoration with him. We testified that as he read, prayed, and acted in faith, he would receive an answer. Prayers for David would be so appreciated!
- Man, being in person for church has been such a tender mercy! Sister Bingham and I both shared our testimonies this past Sunday and it just felt so good to be in the chapel with our ward members! Even with masks on, everyone looked so beautiful! In person church is something I will never take for granted again.
- We made a new friend! Her name is Josephine and she is super cool! We called her on the phone, introduced ourselves, and the first thing she said was, "When I get healed up from my surgery, I want to come with y'all to your church." Ummm... HECK YES! We shared a scripture with her and sang her a song over the phone! It was awesome!
- MIRACLE TIME! Okay, so because of covid, we aren't allowed to knock on the doors of nonmembers yet. But a couple of days ago, Sister Bingham and I felt really impressed that we needed to get in contact with a man who had been previously taught by Missionaries. The problem is that he doesn't ever answer his phone. So we decided we would go over to his house and possibly knock on his door. We drove over there and went up to the porch when we heard a voice behind us say, "Hello Sisters". It was him! We were able to talk with him and he wants us to come back, all with no nonmember doors having to be knocked! God's timing is perfect!
- On Saturday, I hit 15 months. SO CRAZY!
Moral of the story...
GOD IS SO GOOD!
I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it has blessed my life! I've been thinking about that a lot lately and I can't imagine what my life would be like without my Savior, without the Gospel, and without the Book of Mormon. We are so blessed to be living in these days (even though there is a lot of craziness going on right now). Keep trusting in God and rely on His Son! He loves you!
And I love you too!
Have a wonderful week!
Lots of love,
Sister Ferrin
